This is what Milton volunteer firefighters were faced with when they arrived at a garage fire at 803 N. Front St. in the borough about 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to Fire Chief Scott Derr. “The fire was discovered by Milton police who were patrolling the neighborhood. They saw smoke coming from the structure, and flames were coming through the roof when firefighters arrived,” Derr said. It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, he said. One firefighter was treated at the scene for a wrist burn, Derr said.
A state police fire marshal is trying to determine the cause of the blaze, Derr said, adding that it did not appear suspicious. The building, owned by Samual Moyer, of Milton, was used to store tools and equipment, Derr said, adding that no vehicles were in the structure.
Assisting Milton were firefighters from Turbot Township, Warrior Run Area, White Deer Township and Lewisburg.
