Homeless man charged with trespass

Arriving at a home in the 100 block of Oliver Street, Jersey Shore, just after 3 p.m. on March 21, 2025, Lycoming Regional police allegedly found 33-year-old Vincent E. Haines slumped over a storage tote on the porch.

Initially unresponsive, when awoken, Haines stated that he was waiting for his mother. He appeared groggy and had slurred speech, police said in an affidavit.

Haines stated that he was a resident of a house on Shaffer Street, however, officers informed him that he was no longer welcome at the address.

The resident of the Oliver Street address stated that Haines was not to be at her residence either, relating that she had given him a notice of trespass roughly a month prior.

During police interaction, Haines allegedly became aggressive toward the resident, yelling out several vulgarities and obscenities, court documents said.

He was arraigned on charges of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct by District Judge Denise Dieter and remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Starting at $2.99/week.
