Car crashes on Route 87

PHIL HOLMES/Sun-Gazette A woman and a female juvenile, both riding in a black Chevrolet Cruze, were injured in a crash that also resulted in extensive damage to this Dodge Avenger on Route 87, just north of the Community Baptist Church, in Upper Fairfield Township about 5:40 p.m. Saturday, according to state police. Both the woman and the minor were taken by ambulances to UPMC Williamsport to get medical treatment for what police said were non-life-threating injuries. The woman driving the Avenger and a man driving the Cruze escaped injury, police said. A third vehicle was involved, but sustained only minor damage and could be driven away, police said. Volunteer fire police diverted motorists away from the scene while the road was closed.
