Williamsport woman arrested on felony drug charges

Ashley Nicole Smith, 37, of 1103 Isabella St., has been arrested on a total of 12 felony charges after selling a variety of controlled substances — everything from cocaine to ecstasy — to informants between Sept. 4 and Oct. 10, state police alleged in an affidavit. Three of the alleged sales took place in the parking lot just outside Smith’s former South Williamsport apartment at 950 S. Main St., police said in the court document. While en route to complete a fifth drug transaction – this one in Loyalsock Township on Oct. 18, state troopers intercepted Smith at an undisclosed location, seized her vehicle and obtained a search warrant to go through it, it was stated in the court document. An estimated 44 grams of cocaine were discovered in the car, police said.

Smith was arraigned last week before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on seven counts of delivery of a controlled substance and five counts of illegal use of a cellphone, and released on $75,000 bail.

Starting at $2.99/week.
