In separate cases, two face charges for submitting false information in attempt to get firearms
William James Kline, 66, of 1018 Clark Hill Road, Jersey Shore, has been charged with felony submitting false information in an attempt to purchase a firearm and making unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor, for providing untruthful information on a government form when he attempted to obtain the handgun at Sauers Trading Post, 1100 W. Southern Ave., South Williamsport, on Oct. 21, borough police allege in a court document. Kline has waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Gary Whiteman and is free on $7,500 bail.
In another case, Keith Ian McLaughlin, 40, of 541 High St., Jersey Shore, faces identical charges for also allegedly submitting a government form with inaccurate information when he attempted to buy a firearm at National Sporting Goods on Allegheny St. in the borough on July 20, according to Lycoming Regional police. McLaughlin has waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Denise Dieter and is free on $10,000 bail.
