Williamsport woman faces drug and shoplifting charges
Michelle Wettlaufer, 37, formerly of the 100 block of South Main Street Muncy, was arraigned last week before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on two shoplifting offenses and two drug charges stemming from three separate incidents, according to court records. State police have charged her with possessing a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possessing drug paraphernalia at East Third Street and Westminster Drive in Loyalsock Township on May 18. In another complaint, state police have charged Wettlaufer, now living at 1855 E. Third St., with felony shoplifting for allegedly stealing about $42 worth of merchandise from the Weis market at 1272 E. Penn St. in Muncy Creek Township on Aug. 21. City police have charged her with the same felony plus one felony count of receiving stolen property for trying to steal $37 worth of merchandise from Wegmans, 201 William St.,on Nov. 30, it was alleged in another affidavit. Initially jailed, Wettlaufer is now free on $25,000 bail. Court records state she already has at least three shoplifting convictions.
