Ex-boyfriend allegedly confronts city woman in shower

While a woman was taking a shower in her Newberry home about 12:45 a.m. on July 18, her ex-boyfriend Brian Kinney, illegally entered the house and and in an apparent “paranoid state,”

pulled back the shower curtain and “demanded to know who the woman was with, how long she had been in the shower and then claimed he was going to search the house,” it was alleged by city police in an affidavit. The victim called the police and stayed in the bathroom until they arrived. Kinney, 41, of 1251 High St., had already fled the property when officers reached the scene. He and the woman broke up just two days before this incident, police said. Kinney was taken into custody three days later and arraigned before District Judge William Solomon on a felony charge of trespassing and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault. Initially jailed, Kinney has since been released on $25,000 bail. He was held for court this week on both charges.

Starting at $2.99/week.
