Hughesville man jailed following domestic assault at motel
When state troopers arrived at the Loyalsock Township motel on East Third Street on August 1 to investigate a domestic disturbance, they clearly saw “red marks on the female victim’s neck” that were allegedly inflicted by Drew Houseknecht, according to an affidavit. The woman told police that Houseknecht, 43, of 118 N. Main St., Hughesville, threw her on the ground twice and at one point “stomped on her neck multiple times, restricting her breathing,” it was alleged in the court document. Houseknecht used his body to block the victim from leaving the room, police were told. When he fled the room, Houseknecht stole a backpack that contained medication belonging to the woman, police alleged. Arraigned hours later before District Judge Denise Dieter on a felony charge of strangulation, false imprisonment, simple assault, theft, disorderly conduct and harassment, Houseknecht, who has since waived his preliminary hearing, remains incarcerated in lieu of $50,000 bail.
