Joseph White, 28, of Philadelphia, was arrested and jailed on a felony charge of receiving stolen property after Williamsport police caught him sitting in the driver’s seat of a stolen Jeep Cherokee in the 700 block of Hepburn Street about 4 p.m. on Aug. 1, according to an affidavit. White, who told officers he had been sleeping in the SUV for four days, claimed the vehicle was his, but police said the Jeep was reported stolen out of Philadelphia. Arraigned before District Judge Aaron Biichle, White remained jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
