Shortly after 3 p.m. on Monday, city police were dispatched to Brandon Park where they recovered this stolen Nissan Altima that was taken Sunday from Loyalsock Township, state police confirmed. Investigators declined to say where in the township the car was stolen nor could it be confirmed if — at the time of the theft — the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in it, as has been the case in several other recent incidents. Police said, sometime after it was stolen, the Nissan was involved in a hit-run crash at an unknown location. This was just the latest in a string of car thefts this month. City police said besides the Nissan, they recovered two other stolen cars on Monday and, in both cases, the owners had left the vehicles unlocked with the keys in them.
