Williamsport woman faces assault-related charges
Phyllis Marie Wettlaufer, 42, of 671 Campbell St., was arrested this week after threatening a woman with a knife and stating she would harm another individual by striking them with a hammer, city police alleged in court documents. The charges stem from an alleged incident that took place in the 600 block of Fifth Avenue on the night of July 27 in which Wettlaufer “jabbed a knife” in the direction of the victim, but did not stab her, police said. Arraigned before District Judge Aaron Biichle on charges of possession of an instrument of crime, terroristic threats, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, Wettlaufer was released on $20,000 bail.
