Man sentenced to federal prison for dealing meth in Williamsport

An Upper Darby man who distributed methamphetamine 1,000 feet from a Williamsport public housing complex was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison this week.

Sabeeh Daquan Goldwire, 28, was sentenced by the Chief U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann.

He was indicted in December for distributing the drug in the spring of last year.

Goldwire sold meth on seven occasions between Feb. 28, 2024, and July 29, 2024, within 1,000 feet of public housing.

Following an investigation, it was found that Goldwire was part of a drug distribution ring.

The evidence included a Face Time message from Goldwire to a buyer that he would be bringing “ice,” a street name for meth, from Philadelphia to Williamsport.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zensinger prosecuted the case.

“My daughter is hurt by my incarceration,” said Goldwire. “It hurts me, too,” he said in a display of remorse over his criminal activity.

Goldwire, who has a history of drug use and addiction, was defended by Williamsport-based Attorney Robert A. Hoffa.

The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence.

Starting at $2.99/week.
