State police charge Williamsport man with defiant trespassing

Even though he had been repeatedly told he was prohibited from being on the premises, Ashaune Allen returned again and again to the Quality Inn-Candlewood Suits-TGI Fridays complex on East Third Street in Loyalsock Township between Aug. 1 and Sept. 13, acting as a guest or an employee, “using toiletries” and helping himself to food that was for guests only, state police alleged in an affidavit. During the six-week period, Allen, 29, of 1062 Vine Ave., had been caught “sleeping in common areas as well as private areas such as utility closets,” it was stated in the court document. On one occasion, when he was seen approaching the office at TGI Fridays, Allen was ordered to leave, but he was later found in a bathroom there, police said.
At the time, the business was closed, police added. It was alleged that Allen used an estimated $200 worth of complimentary toiletries and other items that were just for guests at the Quality Inn-Candlewood Suits, the affidavit stated. Charged with theft and three counts of defiant trespassing, Allen has been arraigned before Whiteman and is free on $5,000 bail.
