Williamsport woman charged with exploiting two older adults financially

Criminal charges have been lodged against Ryianne Hockenberry, 44, after state troopers found and seized several stolen credit cards Sunday morning in her city apartment at 326 Bridge St., according to an affidavit. The discovery came after Hockenberry allowed the troopers to enter her apartment to look for a black safe concerning another criminal investigation.
While one stolen credit card was seen on the floor in plain view, five others were found in a black bag that Hockenberry allowed the troopers to go through, it was stated in the court document. Four of the stolen cards belonged to a woman who told police that she had allowed Hockenberry to come into her home in mid-September because she trusted her, the affidavit stated. However, after Hockenberry left, the woman realized $500 was missing from the residence, and that her wallet had been taken from her car, police said.
The two other stolen credit cards belonged to a woman, who reported that the cards and $30 in cash were stolen from her purse that she accidentally left in a cart while shopping at an area supermarket earlier this month, police said.
Hockenberry was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge William Solomon on felony charges of financial exploitation of older adults access device fraud as well as several misdemeanors, including identity theft, multiple counts of theft, receiving stolen property and illegal possession of an altered or counterfeit device.
She was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
