Fire in Fairfield Township leaves 3 homeless
A mother and her two adult children were left homeless Sunday when an accidental fire destroyed their rental mobile home at the Timberend Estates, 528 Ruben Kehrer Road, in Fairfield Township, according to Montoursville Fire Chief Jeff Hutchins.
Fire and smoke were visible when firefighters arrived on the scene about 1p.m. All the occupants were already out of the home, Hutchins said. There were no injuries, he added.
It took about 10 minutes to get the fire under control. The renters, whose name were not released, had no fire insurance. The name of the property owner also was not released.
Estmated damage was set at about $30,000, Hutchins said.
The fire was ruled accidental in nature, he said. The displaced tenants were staying with family.
Besides Montoursville, firefighters from Loyalsock Township, Muncy Township, Williamsport and Jersey Shore responded to the scene.
