Williamsport man charged with theft after allegedly finding cellphone
After finding a woman’s misplaced cellphone on Little League Boulevard on Aug. 12, Eric Lee Harris made no effort to find out who it belonged to, but instead took it to his apartment at 416 Third Ave., city police alleged. An officer later recovered it after the cellphone owner tracked it there and set off numerous audible alarms while the 47-year-old Harris had it in his possession, it was stated in an affidavit. Charged with one misdemeanor count of theft of lost or mislaid property, Harris was recently held for court on the charge following a preliminary hearing before District Judge Christian Frey. Initially jailed, he has since been released on $15,000 bail.
