Williamsport woman charged with theft after being fired from job
When Chase Lynn Saiers was terminated from Bella Vita Caregiving Services in Loyalsock Township, she was told her last paycheck would be Dec. 19, state police said in an affidavit. However, the 29-year-old woman “was never taken off the payroll and therefore was able to gain access to what would have been her next paycheck,” a state trooper said in the court document. Between Dec. 15 and Dec, 31, Sairers, of 706 Second Ave., Williamsport, made “a total of 10 transactions totaling $678 involving the paycheck” for which she was not entitled, police alleged. Attempts by her former employer to recover the money were unsuccessful, said police, who have since charged Sairers with one misdemeanor theft charge. She has waived her preliminary hearing before Solomon and is free on $5,000 bail.
