Assault charges land Woodward Township woman in county prison
Tiffany Marie Miller, 34, of 57 Woodward St. in Woodward Township, has been locked up on charges of assaulting another woman at Miller’s front door about 4:45 p.m. on March 20, state police alleged in an affidavit. During an argument, Miller grabbed the woman’s neck with her right arm, squeezed and then “pushed her off an elevated porch,” the court document stated. The victim, who was at the house to pick up her dogs, told police that she “could not breathe for an extended period of time and had a pounding sensation in her head, (making her feel) as if she was going to pass out,” a trooper wrote in the affidavit. As he spoke with the woman, the trooper noticed “significant fresh bruising around the front of her neck.”
It took two troopers to take Miller into custody because she put up resistance, said police, adding the troopers had to take her to the ground. Following her arraignment a short time later before District Judge William Solomon on charges of strangulation, simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment, Miller was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
