Jersey Shore Area High School, Lions Club announce January students of the month

Isabell Grace Carrasquillo, daughter of Jason and Sarah Carrasquillo of Jersey Shore, has been selected as the January 2026 Lions Club Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School.

Isabell is recognized for her dedication to academics, extracurricular involvement, and career preparation.

Throughout high school, Isabell has been actively engaged in a variety of activities. As a freshman, she participated in softball and contributed to The Paw Print. During her sophomore year, she continued softball and joined FBLA. In her junior year, she expanded her involvement to include Bocce and the National Art Honor Society while remaining active in FBLA and softball. During her senior year, Isabell is involved in FBLA, Bocce, National Art Honor Society, and National English Honor Society, where she will be inducted in May.

Isabell has demonstrated leadership within FBLA, serving as Fundraiser Officer during her junior year and Social Media Officer during her senior year. She earned varsity letters in softball during her freshman, sophomore, and junior years and earned varsity letters in Bocce during both years she participated.

Outside of school, Isabell works part-time at Tiadaghton Embroidery and is completing a radiology co-op at Geisinger Jersey Shore, gaining valuable hands-on experience in her chosen field. In her free time, she enjoys taking her three dogs on walks, spending time with family and friends, having bonfires, and shopping.

After graduation, Isabell plans to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology to study Radiology.

Julia Grace Herman, daughter of Pamela and Joseph Herman of Salladasburg, has been selected as the January 2026 Business and Professional Women Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School.

Julia is recognized for her strong leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to school and community involvement.

Throughout her high school career, Julia has been highly active in extracurricular activities. As a freshman, she participated in tennis, FBLA, student council, softball, homecoming committee, and served as a class officer. During her sophomore year, she continued her involvement in tennis and student council while adding prom committee, Red Cross Club, National English Honor Society (NEHS), and Mu Alpha Theta.

In her junior year, Julia remained dedicated to tennis, student council, homecoming committee, and class officer responsibilities. She also served as Red Cross Club Vice President and Prom Committee Chair and became a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and National Spanish Honor Society (NSHS). As a senior, she continues her involvement in tennis, student council, homecoming committee, Red Cross Club, NEHS, Mu Alpha Theta, NHS, and NSHS.

Julia has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout high school. She served as Class President during her freshman and sophomore years and as Class Vice President during her junior year. She chaired the Prom Committee during both her sophomore and junior years and now serves as Tennis Team Captain during her senior year.

Outside of school, Julia works as a waitress and host at the Shore Diner and also babysits and dog sits. She has been nominated for Homecoming Court and has earned her varsity letter in tennis.

In her free time, Julia enjoys painting, gardening, swimming, fishing, and reading.

Julia is committed to Elizabethtown College’s accelerated Physician Assistant program, where she plans to pursue a career as a dermatology PA-C.
