Two Odyssey of the Mind (OM) teams from the Williamsport Area School District will be heading to the 2026 World Finals after the state round last weekend.

The Curtin Intermediate School’s team earned a first-place win at the recent competition and the OM team from Williamsport Area High School earned second.

The school district’s three contending teams from represented Curtin Intermediate School, Williamsport Area Middle School (WAMS) and Williamsport Area High School (WAHS).

Advancing to the World Finals are Curtin team members Freya Allen, Evie Fisher, Felix Fisher, Flynn Moore, Lucas Morrow, Oliver Repella and Anneliese Walter, who will compete in their Division I problem, “The Epic Quest.”

Also advancing are the members of the Williamsport Area High School team: Ava Carter, Cooper Gutberlet, Brayden Harpster, Petrova Hinshaw, Rocco Mirabito, Mason Robinson and Daniel Turner, who will also compete in “The Epic Quest,” Division III.

While not advancing, the other district team ranked in its respective problem.

Williamsport Area Middle School took third place in Division II, “The Taller Tales of John Jivery.”

Team members include Briella Evans, Connor Gimmi, Haddie Harpster, Alexander Frank and Elianna Matter.

The 2026 World Finals is scheduled for May 27-30 at Iowa State University.

Odyssey of the Mind teams from Williamsport schools have been successful at the program’s regional and state levels, having earned coveted spots at the World Final competitions in recent years.
