Variety of charges lodged in Lycoming County district courts
Domestic disturbance results in city man being jailed
When the call came into the county’s 911 center about 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, the only thing the dispatcher could hear was a woman screaming, telling someone to get off her and that she couldn’t breathe, according to a city police affidavit. The dispatcher traced the call to a home in the 900 block of Market St., and when officers arrived on the scene, they too could hear the screams coming from the home.
Just inside the front door, an officer saw Kash Green standing over a woman. Green, 43, of 509 Thomas Ave., was taken into custody without incident on charges of false imprisonment, disorderly conduct and violating a protection from abuse order.
Initially jailed by District Judge Christian Frey on no bail, Green, who has since waived his preliminary hearing, remains in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Charges refiled in sex abuse case
State police have refiled sex abuse charges against Bryce Faivre, 19, of 612 Thomas Ave., that stem from him allegedly having inappropriate contact with a minor under the age of 5 during the months of last April and May in Woodward Township.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Denise Dieter on felony charges of unlawful contact with a minor and corrupting the morals of a minor as well as two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault, Faivre was initially jailed in lieu of $99,000 bail, but has since been released. He was recently held for court on all charges following a preliminary hearing.
Two charged with drug offenses in separate cases
Another felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance has been lodged against accused drug dealer and county prison inmate Dante Kolasa, 22, of 661 Wildwood Blvd., according to court records filed at Frey’s office. The latest charge stems from an incident back on Jan. 23, 2024 when he sold 14 grams of cocaine to “an unwitting individual” in the 1900 block of West Fourth Street in the city, it was alleged in a state police affidavit. Jailed on drug charges since mid-November, Kolasa was recommitted in lieu of an additional $75,000 following his arraignment.
In another case, James Jay Johnson II, 41, of 45 Back St., lot 4, has been charged with possession of small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident on Penn Street in the city on Nov. 17, according to state police. He was recently held for court on these charges and is free on $10,000 bail.
Northumberland man charged following alleged inappropriate contact with minor
Austin Charles Whitmoyer, 23, of Watsontown, faces felony charges of unlawful contact with a minor and endangering the welfare of a child as well as a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault stemming from him allegedly having inappropriate contact with a minor in Wolf Township between April and August, state police said. He has since waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner and is free on $15,000 bail.
New York city man allegedly submitted false address on voter application form
Bryan Browne, 49, of Bronx, New York, faces misdemeanor charges for putting down false information about his address on a Pennsylvania voter registration application, a county detective alleged in court records. Back in mid-June, Browne submitted to Lycoming County a voter registration form, claiming he lived in a South Williamsport apartment. However, in checking with the apartment manager, the detective learned there was no record of Browne living in the apartment, it was stated in an affidavit. “Unless one of the tenants in the apartment had Browne living with them, but (Browne’s name) was not on the lease as required,” the detective said. The manager said the apartment was vacant during the month of June, the detective added. Browne offered little assistance when questioned by the detective over the telephone and eventually hung up after a few questions.
A warrant was then issued for Browne’s arrest, charging him with perjury, unsworn falsification to authorities and submitting a voter registration form with false information. He has since been arraigned before Biichle on those charges and is free on $2,500 bail. He has waived his preliminary hearing.
Muncy area man face theft-related charges
Brandon Michael Rogers, 24, of 2381 Route 405, lot 43, Muncy, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for stealing a $33 gas can with fuel it and a $65 string trimmer spool from a job site at 130 Muncy Creek Boulevard in Muncy Creek Township on May 14, state police alleged in an affidavit. The full identity of the owner of the items was not provided. Rogers has waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner and is free on $5,000 bail.
Loyalsock Township man faces multiple felony counts
Convicted sex offender Todd Michael Stephens, 60, of 546 County Farm Road, has waived his preliminary hearing on nine city police felony counts of failure to comply with registered requirements, according to court records filed at Biichle’s office. During much of last year, it is alleged that Stephens failed multiple times to report changes in his city address to authorities as he is required to do so by law. Following his recent arraignment before Biichle, Stephens was initially jailed, but has since been released on $75,000 bail.
Old Lycoming Township woman charged with false report
Leadalinn Lenig, 23, of 2300 Kenwood Ave., surrendered to face a state police misdemeanor charge of false reports after allegedly implicating another woman in 2021 in a crime knowing that the incident never took place, it was alleged in a court document. Lenig falsely accused the woman of chasing a man with a pickaxe during an altercation in Wolf Township in late June 2021, police said. Lenig, who has since waived her preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, is free on $5,000 bail.
