New Jersey man locked up for alleged sexual relationship with local minor female
A New Jersey man is behind bars in Lycoming County Prison today after he was arraigned on charges alleging he had sex with a minor.
Nicolas A. Reyes, 23, of Pennsauken, New Jersey, faces charges of unlawful contact with a minor/sexual offenses, criminal use of a communication facility, and corruption of minors.
The investigation by Trooper Jamesan Keeler began on Jan. 24 at about 9:30 a.m., when the trooper said he made contact with the girl’s mother. The mother disclosed her daughter had sex with a then-22-year-old man, according to the affidavit.
The girl’s mother told the trooper her daughter had disclosed to her that, on Dec. 11 and 12, 2024, and Jan. 8 and Jan. 9, she met a man and engaged in sexual acts.
The identity of the suspect was unknown at this time. The suspect was described by the girl’s mother.
Reyes drove three hours to Lycoming County to meet with her daughter, the affidavit states. At one of the meetings, a police officer pulled up behind them and asked Reyes for identification, which he provided. The girl said she did not have ID.
Eventually, police said they used the girl’s communication device to pose as the girl and Reyes said he would respond for another meeting.
Reyes was arraigned Jan. 30 by District Judge Denise Dieter, committed to county prison without bail and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
