Child endangerment charges levied against Unityville man
Returning to his home after spending time with a friend, a 15-year-old male encountered 37-year-old Neil Edward Yarish Jr., who, in an agitated emotional state, allegedly began to throw things at the youth, an affidavit said.
The encounter escalated into a brief physical altercation, before Yarish fled to his 2016 Ford Escape. As the alleged victim attempted to move his dirt bike from behind the vehicle, Yarish, of 231 Peters Road, Unityville, allegedly backed into him. Yarish once again struck the alleged victim as he moved to the front of the vehicle, causing discomfort to his right wrist and knee, according to court documents.
Yarish briefly left the residence before returning, where he then allegedly slapped a second victim with an open hand and struck the initial alleged victim on his left arm, causing a minor abrasion, state police said in an affidavit.
He was arraigned by District Judge Kirsten Gardner on charges of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and harassment, released on $30,000 bail.
