Four women jailed on assault-related charges in wake of alleged Williamsport burglary

Four women were locked up on a variety of charges after they forced their way into a home at 815 Elmira St. and assaulted three people about 5:45 p.m. on May 5, city police alleged.

Arrested were neighbor Rhonesia Brooks, 44, of 813 Elmira St.; Leanora Lous, 22, of 1608 Catherine St.; Taijae Lynette Hill, 27, of 1245 Memorial Ave., and Alexis Smone Weary, 31, of 815 W. Fourth St., police said.

All four were arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on charges of burglary, felony trespassing, simple assault, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and harassment, and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail each.

The break-in and the alleged assault was captured on a cell phone belonging to one the occupant, police said. During the attack, Brooks “began swinging” at two of the victims before falling into a 72-inch screen television set, it was alleged in an affidavit.

One of the victims suffered “a significant injury” after her hair was pulled out and she was bit on the arm, police said in the document.

Starting at $2.99/week.
