Luzerne County motorist faces charges following violent crash

Motorist Tyler R. Purkey, 21, of Pittston, has been arrested on a felony aggravated assault-by-vehicle charge and several summary offenses, including reckless driving, that stem from a crash near Lairdsville in early January in which his pickup truck collided head-on with an oncoming car, critically injuring its driver, a volunteer firefighter, according to state police. Caretaker arrested for allegedly assaulting client

Upon arriving at 815 Elmira St. to check on a care-dependent woman about 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28, city police found the woman sitting on the front porch with “two black eyes and her leg bleeding,” it was stated in the affidavit. Police have charged Dawn Jackson Holloway, 24, with allegedly inflicting the woman’s injuries. Holloway, who lives with the victim at the Elmira Street address, is identified as the woman’s paid “caretaker,” in the court document. South Williamsport man jailed on drug and firearm felony charges

Trayden Michael Beaghley, 19, of 337 Clark St., South Williamsport, has been locked up on felony firearm and drug charges after he was caught with two handguns without a permit, according to a detective with the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit. The teen had allegedly planned to sell one of the guns as well as a quarter pound of marijuana to an informant in the 1200 block of West Southern Avenue in the borough on Feb. 5, according to investigators, who intercepted Beaghley and took him into custody before the alleged sale was complete. Four arrested in separate domestic disturbances

Sahmire Rafeek Teasley, 30, of 21 W. Fourth St., apartment 7, remains locked up on four charges after assaulting a woman in an East Third Street motel room in Loyalsock Township during the early morning hours of March 7, state police alleged. The trouble started when the woman attempted to kick Teasley out of the room after discovering he was allegedly “selling crack cocaine,” it was stated in an affidavit.
