Doctors welcome Little League coach to region

Dr. Grace Shu and Dr. Jason Shu, both local residents, recently welcomed Mr. Lai Min-Nan, manager and coach for the 2025 Chinese Taipei Little League Team, to Williamsport and presented him and his team with LLWS souvenirs. Manager Lai and his team are from Taiwan Dongyuan Elementary School.
Dr. Grace Shu, M.D., PhD, the U. S. Public Health Service Senior Adviser, and Senior Advisor to the China C.D.C., with her husband, Dr. Jason Shu, M.D., the council member for Graduate Medical Education Council, they originally were from Taiwan. They welcomed the Taiwanese team and players, who have proudly won the Far East Division Little League World Championship, to Williamsport for the annual world-renowned August Little League World Championship. On 2022 Dr. Grace Shu recommended Coach Lai Min-Nan for a certificate of honorary citizenship from Lycoming County. According to a news release, it is a lifetime honorary title.
“It’s a great pleasure to welcome the Chinese Taipei Little League coaches, managers, players and families to Williamsport, which is the home of Little League Baseball,” Dr. Grace Shu said. “We wish Dongyuan Elementary School a victory in the 2025 Little League World Championship, bringing 2025 international honor back to Taipei, Taiwan.”
“We wish Chinese Taipei team good fortune and great success in 2025, they are extremely talented and dedicated to baseball and good sportsmanship,” Dr. Jason Shu said.
