Jersey Shore Area School board reappoints Ben Enders as business manager
JERSEY SHORE — The Jersey Shore Area School board approved reappointing Ben Enders as the district’s business manager for a five-year term, running from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2030.
According to the contract, Enders’ salary will include a 1.5% base adjustment each year on July 1, and an additional 1% for a proficient annual evaluation or 1.5% for a distinguished annual evaluation. Enders’ salary for the 2023-24 fiscal year was listed at $105,853.
Under other personnel items, the board approved filling the following positions
at the rates of pay or stipend listed, if applicable: Joshua Eichenlaub, assistant varsity boys’ basketball coach, $4,369; Adam Kline, head middle school boys’ basketball coach, $4,213; Clark McLane, assistant middle school boys’ basketball coach, $2,758; Samantha Hurlbutt, volunteer girls’ basketball coach; Nicolette Russel, acting as head varsity cheer coach, temporary stipend of $1,212; Tabitha Whitman, acting as assistant varsity cheer coach, temporary stipend of $727; Alicia Johnsonn, volunteer basketball coach; update to the co-curricular wages for the 2024-25 high school musical for Michele Long, musical drama director, $2,188, and Sarah Keim, production set and design, $1,020.
Finance items approved included: an athletic budget transfer for $300 for the purchase of a helmet and a vest for the chain gang; budget transfers of $444,500 and $350 per PDE’s chart of accounts; transfers of $23,000 for two special education students from the unassigned fund balance to the committed fund balance until the students turn 21, at which time the remaining committed funds will transfer back to the unassigned fund balances.
Two policies regarding opening exercises, moment of silence, flag displays and maintaining professional adult and student boundaries were approved at first read.
Other items approved by the board included a transportation management contract with Marden’s Inc. for the 2024-25 school year with yearly renewals after that for five years; a Wilkes University and district certification preparation agreement; an agreement with Henry Dunn, for ACA reporting services for 2025; and a Pathway agreement with the Pennsylvania College of Technology for business administration or business management course equivalencies.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m., Oct. 28, at the district administration building, 175 A&P Drive, Jersey Shore.
