Lycoming County commissioners downgrade pay for Resource Management Services director position in wake of current head’s resignation

The Lycoming County commissioners have downgraded the payscale for the position of director of Resource Management Services in the wake of longtime Director Jason Yorks submitting his two-week’s notice earlier this month.

With Yorks’ decision to resign after 15 years as director, Commissioners Scott Metzger, Marc Sortman and Mark Mussina took a look at the position and made the decision to downgrade its paygrade from 15 to 13.

“We’ll post it through HR, and then anyone who’s interested can apply for that position,” Metzger said.

“Right now, the deputy director is handling the responsibilities of the director, and he’s doing a good job,” he added.

No other changes are expected for the landfill at this time, and Metzger’s outlook on the situation remains positive.

“At this point, we’re still looking at the financials. We’re looking at all options moving forward with the landfill, so that’s a discussion that’s going to be going on for a little bit of time. But we’re confident with the employees there now that things will be handled properly. We have complete confidence in the employees over there,” he said.

Other staffing actions approved include: the addition of Brook Muthler as a full-time clerk III, 4 at the District Attorney’s office, at $15.45 per hour, with an anticipated start date of April 16; Eithan Marino as a full-time adult probation officer, at $24.53 per hour, with an anticipated start date of April 28; Mark Stetts as a full-time prison sergeant at $25.52 per hour, with an anticipated transfer date of April 13; Elizabeth Fox as a part-time prison correctional officer at $20 per hour, with an anticipated start date of April 13; Dylan Nichols as a full-time prison correctional officer at $20 per hour, with an anticipated start date of April 21.

Title changes include the deletion of the director of administration position; the addition of director of management operations; the reclassification of a vacant domestic relations officer to an adult probation administrative case officer; and the reclassification of a part-time DUI Center position to a full-time Processing detective with a salary of $25 per hour.

The next meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Commissioner’s Boardroom, 3rd Floor of the Third Street Plaza, 33 W. Third St.

Starting at $2.99/week.
