First Friday is back with annual Kids’ Carnival this week
Fun for the kids, and all for a worthy cause.
The United Way of North Central Pennsylvania invites families to join the fun at the annual Kids’ Carnival on Friday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pine Square in downtown Williamsport as part of Kids First Friday.
This exciting event will feature classic carnival games, a dunk tank, prizes, and family-friendly entertainment for all ages, stated Savannah Lorson, administrative manager at the United Way of North Central Pennsylvania.
Every ticket purchased and game played directly supports the United Way of North Central Pennsylvania’s programs and initiatives that help families thrive right here in our community, the United Way statement read. “This is more than just a fun night out. It’s a chance to make a real impact where you live.”
Because it also is First Friday, there will be live music performances by: Trip the Light, Keith Resnick and the Soundsport Drum Corps.
An open reception of the Lycoming Arts Gallery from 5 to 8 p.m. is where guests will be able to meet Damon McCloskey, featured artist and city native.
The streets will be lined with food truck vendors offering a variety of specialties.
The weather forecast, too, is favorable and indicates much cooler temperatures with only a 30 % chance of showers before 2 p.m. and clearing afterwards.
