Lycoming County commissioners make short work of light agenda
A short agenda resulted in a short meeting for the Lycoming County commissioners this week.
Among the eight items on the agenda up for approval by the commissioners was a contract with AECOM, an infrastructure consulting firm, in the amount of $75,000 to do preliminary research related to the levee project.
Other items approved were: an agreement with Action Cleaning and Equipment of Central PA in the amount of $800 for cleaning the exhaust system at the prison’s kitchen; an agreement with M&M Asphalt in the amount of $11,000 for work on the driveway at the County Farm’s house with the money coming from the sale of the house; an agreement with MES Service Company LLC for $135 for the annual inspection of the self-contained breathing apparatus at the Pre-Release Center; the support renewal with Stenograph in the amount of $2,880 for machines used by the courts to record hearings; the purchase of 12 cameras for inside the courthouse at a cost of $7,041; the support renewal with E-Plus in the amount of $747 for the PCD scanner; and an amendment to the agreement with McCormick Law Firm for legal services for the planning department and the planning commission through 2027.
Under personnel, the commissioners approved hiring the following personnel at the rates of pay listed: Marcus Tapper and Tara Stackhouse, part-time correctional officers, union positions, at the Prison, $20 per hour; Dalton Confer, full-time correctional officer at the prison, a union position, $20 per hour; and Kellen Krape, full-time Dirt & Gravel Roads Technician with Soil Conservation, $50,373 per year.
The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 11 in the Commissioners’ Board Room, 3rd floor, Third Street Plaza, 33 W. Third St.
