Male driver sought after reports of shots fired in Woodward Township

While pursuing his ex-female paramour in his pickup truck on Route 220 on Thursday afternoon, the driver first rammed her SUV and then fired one shot in her direction from inside the truck, state police confirmed.

No one was injured in the shooting that occurred near Queneshaque Road about 3:30 p.m.

A warrant has been filed for the man’s arrest, charging him with several felonies, police confirmed.

His identity has not been released to the public.

A news release stated the shooting happened in the southbound lanes of Route 220. After the shooting, the woman’s SUV crashed, landing in the northbound passing lane, just north of Pine Run Road.

“After ramming her vehicle, the man retrieved a rifle and fired one round through his windshield,” the release, issued about 7:30,p.m.

The man then drove a short distance before abandoning his truck and stealing a red Dodge pickup that had a Pennsylvania license plate FM7491C, police said. It was last seen in the 200 block of Allegheny Street in Jersey Shore about 5 p.m., police said.

“If the vehicle is seen, contact 911 immediately. The driver is believed to be armed with a rifle,” police said.

He is white with facial hair, police added.
