Jody Pennycoff, 54, of Cogan Station, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia.
Born Aug. 28, 1962, in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter to Robert and Crystal (Smeltzer) Rummings.
Jody Pennycoff… our genuine unassuming hippy chick… mountain girl, grow everything… preserve everything… honey making… calendula salve?! making… fresh egg provider… sew everything… tie dye everything… love everything… and everyone… best wife… best mom… best sister… best daughter… best friend… who learns to play the ukulele at 50?
Jody was a 1980 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. She was employed by Woolrich for 26 years then was the owner of the Stony Springs Sew Shop. She was a member of the Jersey Shore Elks Lodge No. 1057, PENNAPIC (PA Backyard Beekeepers Association), and the Pennsylvania State Bee Keepers Association.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her loving husband, Duke Pennycoff; her children, Heidi Buxton and Jan Oechler; sisters, Vicky (Tom) Murray, Tammy (Dave) Thompson and Cindy Alexander; grandchildren, Darien and Aryana Buxton and Aubrey Oechler; several nieces and nephews; and other close children she loved as her own.
A celebration of Jody’s life will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at the Jersey Shore Assembly of God, 172 Antes Fort Main St., Antes Fort. Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. at church. A time of food and fellowship will follow at the Jersey Shore Elks Lodge.
