James Urban
James Urban of Swoyersville and Pennsdale passed away March 24th at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village Lewisburg Pa.
Born in Kingston August 23, 1962, Jim was a member of the St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church Swoyersville. He was a graduate of Bishop O’Reilly High School, Wilkes University attaining a BM in Music and taught Instrumental Music at Bishop O’Reilly High School. He was also a graduate Luzerne County Community College as a Paramedic. He was the Paramedic Coordinator for Nesbitt Hospital, EMS Licensure Coordinator for Emergency Medical Services of Northeast Pa and Most recently the EMS Licensure Coordinator for 7 Mountains EMS Council. Jim was a part time fire truck driver for Forty Fort Fire Dept and was also a local Fire and EMS Dispatcher. He was a Life Member of the Maltby Fire Co Swoyersville, and was also a member of the Former Swoyersville Community Ambulance. At the time of his death he was an active member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving are his Mother Marie Rascik Urban, His Companion Paula Miller, brother Frank Urban (Denise) , nieces Renee, Melissa and Michelle and great niece Amelia.
Funeral for Jim will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc. 281 Chapel St. Swoyersville with a Mass of Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church Tripp St. Swoyersville. Family and Friends may call at the Funeral Home Monday evening from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Parastas Service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
