Lieselotte Kimble

Lieselotte Kimble, 87, of Barbours, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by her family at UPMC Muncy Place.

Born January 17, 1938, in Bückeburg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Wilhelm and Karoline (Wagener) Prasuhn. She met her husband, Roger Kimble, when he was working for Boeing Vertol in Germany. After his retirement Liese, Roger, and Ron moved to Barbours and have been there ever since. Liese and Roger shared over 40 years of marriage until his passing in 2002.

Liese was very active with the Plunketts Creek Fire Department for many years. She was a member of Montoursville Presbyterian Church where she was an elder as well as enjoyed tremendously singing in the choir. She loved to cook and bake many things, especially her Christmas Stollen and Easter Kolachi, which she taught her grandchildren so that the tradition can be carried on. She also loved to can and make jams. Then there was her banana bread, which was gifted to too many people to count.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Kimble (Crystal Kilby), of Barbours; her daughter, Barbara (David) Lytle, of Lincoln University, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Justin, Emily and Alyssa Lytle.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Montoursville Presbyterian Church, 900 Elm St. Montoursville, Pa., with Rev. David C. Smith officiating. Friends may be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
