Joseph L. Ray

Joseph L. Ray, of Bluffton, SC formerly of Williamsport, passed away on September 22, 2025.

Born August 23, 1937 to Joseph and Dorothy (Dooris) Ray, Joseph was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary K. (Slattery) Ray, and is survived by his beloved wife, June Ray.

He was the proud father of Joseph J. Ray and Christopher P. Ray and the cherished brother of Robert Ray and Bernadette (Ray) Ranck.

Joseph built a respected career with Allstate Insurance, where his professionalism and dedicated earned the trust of countless clients and colleagues.

Beyond his work, Joseph had a lifelong passion for cars, fishing, and golf, and was an enthusiastic supporter of Notre Dame athletics. His knowledge, loyalty, and good humor enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Joseph’s life will be honored by his family, with plans for a private celebration of life to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
