Helen E. Barger

Helen E. Barger, 95, of Montoursville, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center. Born November 18, 1930, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Edward S. and Clara B. (Kurtz) Konkle. Helen married Robert S. Barger on March 5, 1955, and shared 38 years of marriage prior to his passing on January 28, 1994.

Helen and Robert shared a wonderful life. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother who enjoyed baking for her family and friends. Helen was very dedicated to her church, husband and family.

Helen is survived by daughters, Karen H. Mercer, of Chester, WV, Diana E. (Gary) Logan, of Montoursville, Linda K. (Joe) Tokay, of Williamsport; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by husband, Robert Barger; brothers, Lester Konkle, Donald Konkle, and sister, Ann Miller.

Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 20, at Faith United Methodist Church 700 Fairview Dr., Montoursville, with Helen’s daughters officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty Thomas Funeral Home of Montoursville.
