Shirley E. (Hall) Baker

Shirley E. (Hall) Baker, 102, formally of Montgomery, died Friday, December 5, 2025, at Edenbrook North.

Born May 30, 1923, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Verdnia (Kemery) Hall. She was a student at Montgomery Clinton Area High School until 11th grade.

Shirley and her husband, Roy Casner Baker, shared a wonderful life and were married for 40 years until his passing in June of 1985.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed reading Amish books, crocheting, cooking, and riding River Valley Transit to Williamsport and the surrounding areas. She was a proud Housewife and loved taking care of her family and working on the family farm with her husband. Shirely was also previously employed at Elimsport Elementary School District as a cafeteria worker, Chef Boyardee, and Montgomery Mills Shirt Factory. She was also a member of The Beacon and St. John UMC in Elimsport.

She is survived by sons Gary (Deborah) Baker of Winter Haven, FL; Ronald (Donna) Baker of Williamsport; daughter, Linda Bailey of Watsontown; 7 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers Cleason (Joanne) Hall of Hughesville; Clinton (Ruthann) Hall of Hughesville; and sister, Beverly Hall, of Williamsport.

Aside from being preceded in death by her parents and husband, Shirley was also predeceased by a brother, Stuart Hall.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville with Pastor Kevin St. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 15th, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in Shirley’s name: St. Jude Donate.
