Jon Michael “Minty” Minteer, 34, of Trout Run, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at home.
Born August 25, 1991, in Williamsport, he was a son of Kenneth and Karen S. (Feist) Minteer.
Jon earned his GED, a stepping stone that led him to a fulfilling career as a Heavy Equipment Operator and also a membership for various operator’s unions. Jon was an ardent member of the Pennsylvania Trials Riders motorcycle club. His passion for motorcycles wasn’t just a hobby; it was a facet of his identity. He channeled his love for the sport into remarkable achievements, winning three national events and securing a proud third place in another national competition.
Jon enjoyed shooting pool with friends, riding four-wheelers, and living each day with a philosophy of seizing every opportunity for happiness, a true thrill seeker who found delight in every new challenge. The Trout Run Hotel held a special place in Jon’s heart. He spent countless hours there with friends and family, enjoying life to the fullest.
He took great care of his mother and was her best friend, a testament to his compassionate heart and the strong family values that guided him. To his father, Jon was not just a son but also a best friend, a companion through life’s highs and lows. The bond they shared was one of mutual respect and unwavering support.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Sheri Jo Coppola (Robert), three nieces, Alexus Flournoy (Dylan), Kelcey Coppola-Edmiston (Aidan), Kaytlyn Coppola, a great-niece, Harper; a great-nephew, Rowan, an aunt, Patty Minteer; his pretend-wife, Tashina “Bean” Ross; his placebo-sister, Jill Frey; godparents, Jean and Edward Leisenring; his best friends, Johnny Marcusky from second grade; two dogs, Ozzy and Rippee; as well as many, many good friends and cousins.
Jon was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, Susan and Sherwood Feist, and Loraine and Jack Minteer; two uncles, Gary and Denny Feist; two cousins, Jeremy and Amy Patt; his friend, Luke Beatty; and beloved dog Buddy.
A visitation to honor Jon will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, PA. Jon’s family will also hold a Celebration of Life later this year.
Jon’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the help provided by the Trout Run Volunteer Fire Company.
