Meredith Lowry DO

Meredith Lowry DO, 71, most recently of Ashland, OR, passed away on February 3, 2026.

Meredith was born in Williamsport on January 12, 1955. She grew up in Faxon and attended Loyalsock HS. Her journey wasn’t a straight line, and looking back now it was naturally her. Her intellect, independent spirit, and zest for learning took her far and wide. From colleges in Virginia, Connecticut, Wisconsin and eventually to Kirksville, Missouri where she received her DO medical degree. Punctuating her education were road trips touring the US by car, working on farms in Connecticut and Huntersville and traveling extensively in India learning homeopathy for 1 1/2 years. Residencies took her to the Pacific Northwest where she fell in love with the milder climate and similar mountains to home.

She was a primary care physician in both Portland and Ashland Oregon where she strived to provide a holistic approach to caring for her patients utilizing homeopathy and manipulation in addition to traditional care. She also traveled extensively throughout the world, meeting new people who would become lifelong friends. Her curiosity never faded and learning was always a constant, her breadth of knowledge knew no bounds.

She leaves behind many friends whose lives she impacted. Also surviving is a sister, Kim Martin (John) of Pompano Beach Florida; a brother, Charlie Lowry (Bess) of Montgomery Pennsylvania; a stepsister, Jill Lowry (Brett) of Salida Colorado; a step brother, Matt Lowry (Pam) of Towson Maryland. Her nieces and nephews will miss the stories and visits of their free-spirited Aunt Merrie.

She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Helen Lowry and grandparents Charles and Josephine Grosskurth and Frank and Helen Lowry.

A celebration of life service will be held at Crouse Funeral home on Saturday March 21, 2026 at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frank W. and Helen P. Lowry Endowed Scholarship Fund at Lycoming College, Office of College Advancement, One College Place, Williamsport PA 17701.
