Robert “Bob” Eugene Beck, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 23, 1945, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Leo Paul Beck and Ethel Jane (Knarr) Beck. Bob’s journey was characterized by a love for his family, a passion for sports, and a kindness that touched every living being he encountered.

Professionally, Bob retired after a dedicated career in the lumber industry where he took pride in his work as a stacker and machine operator. But his true love extended beyond the working hours and onto the baseball field and at the river fishing. Bob’s enthusiasm for baseball saw him attending Little League and Crosscutter games, cheering for The Yankees, and bringing his own good luck to the game as he played with family and friends at reunions, earning the nickname “The Luck of the Irish.”

A fan through and through, Bob supported the Cleveland Browns while rooting for his favorite NASCAR legend, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He also held a huge place in his heart for animals, rescuing and adopting an abandoned beagle during the 1996 Williamsport flood and always keeping treats at the ready for the neighborhood dogs.

Bob is survived by his wife Patricia (Ungard) Beck, three daughters, Virginia Gray (Andrew), Linda Wagner (Jason), and Anna Monks (Michael), two step-sons, Kevin Johnson and Terry Johnson (Linda). He also leaves behind two sisters, Geraldine O’Donnell and Barbara Street (Todd). Bob was a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren Chance (Samantha), Jacob (Sara), Dillon, Katie (Josh), and Easton (Angel) and four great-grandchildren, Johnathon, Kye, Everleigh, and Walker. They all filled his life with pride and happiness. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, a special step-granddaughter Ashley, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son Robert Eugene Beck, Jr., step-son Eugene Johnson, and siblings Richard, Leonard, Merrill Beck, Doris Minnick, Carol Beck, Joanne Beck, and Esther Mae Beck.

Funeral services to honor Bob will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. A viewing will be held prior from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
