Giuseppe “Joe” Mario Tuzzato

Giuseppe “Joe” Mario Tuzzato passed peacefully on February 24th, 2026 at the age of 72 in his Harrisburg Pa home surrounded by his family.

Born in Catona, Italy on September 15th, 1953 and raised in post-war southern Italy, he chose to leave home at 15 years old to find work on cruise ships so he could help support his parents and siblings back home. Joe served honorably in the Italian navy for 2 years. Joe met his wife Laurie in December of 1976, they were married 5 weeks later and remained married for 49 years.

Joe was a lover of many things in this world and most of them were simple pleasures. Whether it be planting fruit trees and vegetable gardens every year, going fishing with his sons, watching a soccer match, or cooking something his mother use to make…it was always the simplest of things in life that brought him the most joy. Joe had 2 great loves in life, family and good food.

Joe was a firm believer in hard work and determination. He bought a small business, Pronto Mail Service, Inc., in 1993. Over the course of almost 20 years, Joe succeeded in building a comfortable life for his family by working harder than any of his competitors.

Joe is survived by his wife, Laurie (Richards); his sons Peter and John Paul. Joe was preceded in death by his father Pietro Tuzzato, and his mother Francesca Scopelliti.
