Death of a nation
America, whether people care to acknowledge or not, is in the midst of a crisis unlike any it has faced before. Facts have been replaced with lies. The courage to act has taken a back seat to apathy. Intelligence is frowned upon. It is hip to be ignorant of the truth. Our educational system is in disarray. History is merely glossed over and civics is virtually nonexistent. The people who were young and vibrant in the 60’s grew up to be their parents. So many people today are so engrossed in their own little fiefdoms that they fail to see the danger that is all around them.
Eight people possess more money than forty million people and yet so many blissfully ignorant people still believe that it is the poor of this country we have to watch. If only people would stop and think about that. It is not gay people we should fear. It is not immigrants. It is the so-called elite, the money-grubbing upper crust who are destroying our nation right before our eyes. Wake up!
Politicians like Glenn Thompson run unopposed over and over and over and yet do nothing to stand up for working class families. Someone with a sense of fairness, someone with a true knowledge of what is happening needs to run against him. He just voted to cut Medicaid. And why? Because Trump told him to. And he will continue to jump each and every time that Trump tells him to. The politicians in this country disgust me. On the right, they bash socialism and yet have no qualms in benefiting from it. Elon Musk is stealing taxpayer dollars at a catastrophic pace and is getting away with it. Some of these politicians are even stooping to the lowest point possible by making fun of Joe Biden’s cancer. Seriously? When did that become okay?
Then, of course, there is the media. I grew up listening to people such as Walter Cronkite. There certainly aren’t any Cronkites doing the news today. They are mouthpieces, who disregard the facts and tow the party line. They are performing the very same task as news people in Russia. Oh, and speaking of Russia, since when did we become its ally? I had an uncle who fought in World War II. I am so thankful he is not here today to see what is happening.
Young people, you need to put down your phones and hit the streets in protest while it is still possible to protest. If you don’t, the future you will face will be one of darkness and severe governmental control.
