I was graced to have seen the Community Theatre League’s rendition of Godspell this weekend. Wow! What a blessing. Brought tears to my eyes. It focused mostly on some of the parables that Jesus used to bring HIs message to the world. But throughout the musical it also offered a picture of the love of Christ and His followers toward each other. A community of love! Well done CTL. Thomas Sowell said, “If you want to help someone, you tell them the truth; if you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear.: Governor Shapiro and his barking, clapping, trained seals in the state senate obviously want to help themselves. In this election year, they are once again talking about raising the minimum wage in order to appeal to the economic illiterates among the voters, even though they know, or should know that this will hurt many of the people they are purporting to help. Shapiro stated that all the states around us have a higher minimum wage than ...
In a recent letter to the editor, the author discusses the consequences of president Trump ending USAID, the agency he says is responsible for global health programs, food security, disaster relief, and basic humanitarian support. While these programs are certainly noble, we as a country with an annual $1 trillion plus budget deficit are not in a fiscal position to support programs outside the United States that don’t affect everyday Americans. $1 trillion a year deficits equals $2,857 on every Americans government” credit card”, which will not be paid by us, but by our children ...
Do you get your prescriptions by mail? One of mine started its journey at a U.S. Post Office in Egg Harbor Township, NJ at 7:41 a.m. on February 5. By 8:56 a.m. it was at the Philadelphia Regional Distribution Facility and it was on its way to the next facility by 3:52 that afternoon. At 6:09 p.m. it was at the Harrisburg distribution Center. So far so good. But when my medicine had not arrived by Monday, February 9 -- four days later! -- I checked with the USPS tracking system and the shipment showed as “in transit to next facility.” This morning -- Wednesday, February -- I ...
The Fourth Amendment guarantees “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.” Most Americans are not subjected to constant suspicion, arbitrary searches, or the fear of armed intrusions into their private sanctuaries. These practices obliterate personal security and freedom. Yet the Fourth Amendment is applied far more loosely in the border zone, where federal agents wield “extraordinary” authority. In this zone, agents may conduct warrantless searches of anyone—citizen or not—and carry out ...
Have you noticed every action the Trump Administration has taken when it comes to illegal immigration, the Democratic/Socialist Party has nothing but contempt for them. This is the same people who once said instead of having people learn English, you might want your children to learn Spanish. Then deported over a million illegal immigrants. No problem, as far as the media was concerned. But now, it’s big news, because it’s the Trump Administration. Is the citizenry that naive to believe everything the Democratic/Socialist Party controlled media prints? Do you really believe the ...
