Vote ‘yes’ to retention

Judicial retention elections in Pennsylvania are usually quiet, nonpartisan affairs. This year is different. What is normally a routine vote has become a high-stakes political battle over control of the state’s highest court, fueled by national attention, outside money, and a flood of deceptive advertising. The question before voters is straightforward: Should three Supreme Court Justices—Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht—be retained for another 10 years? The answer should rest on truth, not misinformation. Retention elections are simple: a “YES” or ...

A government that helps

This current government shutdown was destined to happen again. It happened before in 2011, and again in 2018 always over healthcare. Republicans are totally against providing any government sponsored healthcare but in those instances the Democrats controlled one or more of the Senate, the House, or the Presidency so the Republicans demand that the Affordable Care Act be cancelled or eliminated could never succeed. But now the Republicans control all three branches and given that they have never wanted healthcare or subsidies except when provided by employers they are taking advantage ...

Too much unchecked power

Recently the White House issued National Security Presidential Memorandum-7 (NSPM-7), a directive aimed at combating “domestic terrorism and organized political violence.” While this sounds reasonable on the surface, NSPM-7 poses real dangers to everyday Americans who are simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. This order gives federal agencies sweeping powers to track money, monitor groups, and investigate citizens. When terror is terrorism

The night Jimmy Kimmel returned to the air, he said Charlie Kirk’s assassin was “a disturbed individual.” And then Kimmel said not a word about the Antifa messaging on the bullets which the assassin left behind. But, of course, no leftist admits that any political shooters in America are terrorists these days. That’s because most of these domestic terrorists are indeed “ LEFTISTS”. But that would look bad for the leftist-controlled Democratic Party. And so the terrorist shooter at the Dallas ICE facility made certain that radicalized Democrats and their echo media ...

Keep Windows 10 going

Microsoft should keep Windows 10 going. Electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream globally. A major reason for this is that many manufacturers of electronics design their devices in ways that have built in obsolescence. A current example of this challenge is the fact that Microsoft is proposing to end its automatic support for Windows 10, starting on October 14. Without this free, easily accessible support and updates, it’s estimated that up to 400 million computers may become obsolete. This shortsighted decision by Microsoft is unacceptable and must be reversed. ...

Self-advocacy

When seeking professional care, it would be wise to think carefully regarding any procedure that could possibly go south if not performed properly or carefully. I mention this as information and warning for anyone offered treatment for anything which they are not comfortable having completed to be cautious in their action. It would then be extremely wise for them to get a second opinion from another qualified practitioner to verify or exclude the need for the treatment or procedure. The scenario below is an example of a situation that can occur. An individual visited a professional ...
