Why are you surprised?

I find it slightly amusing that people are surprised even shocked by what the Trump administration is doing along with Republican legislators federally and in Republican lead states. I must ask was no one truly listening to what Republicans have been saying all these years? Never mind the charges they level at Democrats, I am referring to what they say about their beliefs. Republicans always campaign they will protect SSI, Medicare and Medicaid but they always say they are unsustainable and should be privatized. They once support protecting the environment, wealthy companies complain ...

Evil in America

The following opinions in this letter are mine and quite possibly the opinions of most American citizens. The assaults on ICE agents and other law enforcement officers is an assault on America. Did these anti-American liberals ever stop to think why these officers are legally going around our country and arresting illegal violent criminals who prey on American citizens? It is because of the Biden regime’s open border policy letting these criminals into our country from day one of the presidency. Why did our government ever allow people with anti-American ideology to run for any ...

Instability

Would any teacher tolerate a student who constantly lies, refuses to admit failure, takes credit for others’ work, demeans or bullies classmates who are less fortunate, and disrupts the learning environment? Of course not. Such behavior would be unacceptable in any classroom. Yet somehow, many Americans continue to support Trump who exhibits these same traits—habitual dishonesty, lack of empathy or compassion, and a tendency to punish or debase anyone who disagrees with him. This isn’t leadership. Its chaos wrapped in ego. Debate his policies if you wish—on the economy, ...

Skip the straw

When I read the article titled “No end to plastic pollution” in the weekend edition of Aug. 16th, it prompted me to pen this letter. Whether you’re dipping a toe into the Susquehanna River, kayaking on the Loyalsock Creek, or playing in the surf of the Outer Banks, you’re connected to 97% of all water on Earth. The ocean regulates the weather, moving heat from the equator to the poles and absorbing excess carbon from the atmosphere while providing a home for countless species. What we take out of the ocean (seafood) and what we put in (plastics, discarded fishing gear, ...

School for losers

When the Democrats were in charge of the House, Nancy Pelosi told legislators that if they wanted to know what was in a bill, they had to vote for it first, and then they could find out. For a Democrat House Speaker, that’s pretty funny since it sounds like North Korea. But now that Democrats don’t control the House, they read the entire 900-page Big Beautiful Bill out loud to the House before the vote. That was funny, too, because such communist comedy exposes radical so-called Democrats to public view. Besides, it’s always pleasant to see what a little real democracy can do for ...

How does he do it?

He has called vets “losers” and fired thirty thousand specialists, including 800 doctors, who work at the VA, so care for vets will be harder. Yet, many vets still support him. Since the Hollywood Access tape in which Trump said, “And when you’re a star, …You can do anything. Grab them by the (expletive). You can do anything.” Forty women have accused him of sexual assault. He lost a rape court case costing him $83 million. Still, women support him. He has increased unnecessary paperwork so millions are about to lose their health insurance through Medicaid. He talks of ...
