The singles draw for the District 4 girls tennis tournament was released on Wednesday evening, and numerous area players are hoping to make it to the semifinals.

The first three rounds will be played on Saturday morning at Williamsport High School beginning at 9 a.m. The semifinals and finals are scheduled for Monday at the Central PA Tennis Center beginning at 1 p.m.

The top seven seeds in the field all receive byes into the second round.

Danville’s Josie Bendle is the No. 1 seed and will face either Muncy’s Zoe Dohl or Montoursville’s Elsa Kehrer in the second round. The second seed is Hughesville’s Georgia Randall, who faces either North Penn-Liberty’s Annabella Johns or Bloomsburg’s Suhani Vishwakarma.

Montgomery’s Cali Barnes is the third seed and will await the winner of the matchup between Lewisburg’s Christina Zheng and Jersey Shore’s Julia Herman. Loyalsock’s Caroline Crawford is the fourth seed and faces either Madisyn Miller of Montgomery or Alexis Hoot of Selinsgrove.

The fifth seed, Lewisburg’s Dayssi Weis, has a bye and awaits the winner of the matchup between Central Columbia’s cassandra Marte and South Williamsport’s Mylee Morrison.

South Williamsport’s Emma McLaughlin earned a bye as the six seed and will face either Central Columbia’s Sydney Barry or Mifflinburg’s Holly Swartz. The final player to receive a bye is seventh-seeded Gia Biacchi of Loyalsock. The Lancer faces either Danville’s Gyovanna Sundaresan or Wellsboro’s Evelyn Weatherbee.

Other first-round matchups include Milton’s Emily Waltman vs. Hughesville’s Rebecca Roberts in the top portion of the bracket and Wellsboro’s Olivia Gage vs. Jersey Shore’s Josie Gerst.
