The District 4 girls tennis team tournament gets underway this week on Tuesday with nine teams hoping to be the ones to claim the District 4 title.

There’s only one play-in match and that’s Tuesday’s matchup between Wellsboro and South Williamsport at South at 4 p.m. The winner of that game will face top-seeded Danville on Thursday at 4 p.m.

In the quarterfinals, Montgomery is at 15-win Hughesville, Bucktail travels to Lewisburg and Central Columbia is at Loyalsock. Those are all scheduled for 4 p.m. starts.

The semifinals will see the Danville/Wellsboro-South winner face the Hughesville/Montgomery winner on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. at a site to be determined. The other semifinal between Bucktail/Lewisburg and Central Columbia/Loyalsock will also be at 4 p.m. at a site to be determined.

The championship match is tentatively set for Thursday, Oct. 16 at a site to be determined at 4 p.m.

Jersey Shore won the last two District 4 team titles. Hughesville won a title in 2022 and Central Columbia won repeat district gold in 2021 and 2020.

Starting at $2.99/week.
