Central Mountain and Jersey Shore needed 100 minutes of soccer, but even so a winner wasn’t determined as the two played to a 1-1 double overtime tie in a competitive game. Erza Paulhamus put the Bulldogs on the board in the first half with 11:49 remaining when he was assisted by Dylan Hensler. Central Mountain kept battling and broke through three minutes into the second half when Dylan Bechdel tied the game. Neither team scored the game-winner, however.
Ori Kennel scored a first-half goal, but Warrior Run came up shy against Southern Columbia at home, 2-1. The Tigers out-shot the Defenders, 12-10.
• A goal in the 59th minute lifted Jersey Shore to a 1-0 win against North Penn-Mansfield. That goal came from Aaralynn Kimble, who scored off a loose ball in front of the goal. Kaia Notevarp had three saves for Shore to preserve the shutout while Mansfield’s Avalon Rew played well with seven saves.
Mansfield appeared to have scored a goal in the first half when Brooke Wilcox connected on a header, but officials waved the goal off due to an offsides call.
“This was one of those ugly games that felt like the team wasn’t on the same page with each other,” North Penn-Mansfield coach Maryann Wilco said. “Everybody was just a step off and had trouble connecting our passes.”
South Williamsport scored five goals in the first half and cruised past Mid-Penn rival Montgomery, 9-0. Ella Moore scored four goals and had an assist, Kloey Persun had two goals and two assists and Coco Kline had a team-high three assists and scored as well.
