LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven football team fell to No. 4 Kutztown University, 34-7, Saturday night at home in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division action.

Despite the loss, Lock Haven’s Rocco Daugherty turned in a stellar effort on defense. He finished with a game-high eight tackles which included seven solo stops and two tackles-for-loss.

Bald Eagle quarterback Jackson Ostrowsky threw for 168 yards (23-37) and Tucker Teats provided a spark on offense with nine hard-running carries that resulted in 47 yards. Mekhi Watson hauled in five catches (65 yards).

Lock Haven’s LucRichard Rameau chipped in with four tackles on defense.

Kutztown led 13-0 after the first quarter and it paved the way for a 27-0 halftime-lead, and despite a strong second half from the Bald Eagles, the first-half deficit was too much to overcome.

KU quarterback Judd Novak threw for 220 yards and Eli Cunningham rushed for two scores to lead the way on offense for the visitors.

Trailing 27-0, Damir Green darted into the end zone from two yards out and put Lock Haven on the board. The rushing touchdown capped a 16-play drive.

The loss pushed Lock Haven to 2-4 overall and the Bald Eagles are now 1-2 in PSAC East action. With the win, the fourth-ranked Golden Bears remained unbeaten at 6-0 (3-0 PSAC East).

Saturday’s game vs. Kutztown marked the first of two straight games to be played at Lock Haven’s Hubert Jack Stadium.

Next week marks Lock Haven’s 2025 homecoming weekend and the Bald Eagles are set to host West Chester at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
