Three Lycoming players named to Academic All-District Team in men’s soccer
Three Lycoming College men’s soccer players received 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team honors: seniors Cole Sharpnack and Thomas Geyer, as well as sophomore Jake Keeney.
Eligible student-athletes must classify as at least a sophomore academically and carry a 3.50 minimum cumulative grade-point average. Additionally, the student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of the institution’s games/contests/sets played or have started in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets throughout the season. A maximum of six student-athletes can be honored from a team in soccer.
The 2025 Academic All-District men’s and women’s soccer teams, which are selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Sharpnack, a senior defender, started all 19 games on the backline of the Warriors, helping hold the opposition to just 20 goals all season. He also tallied his first career goal in his final home game, a penalty-kick score against Wilkes. Sharpnack finished his Lycoming career with 47 games played and 28 starts over three seasons. This is his first CSC Academic All-District honor.
Geyer, a senior midfielder, also started all 19 games, tallying a goal against Wilkes and adding a pair of assists. He appeared in 77 games, starting 60, over his Warriors career with a pair of goals and seven assists. This is his second straight Academic All-District selection, having been honored by the CSC in 2024.
Finally, Keeney, a sophomore midfielder, played in all 19 games and started 17, scoring a goal at Mount Aloysius and adding two assists. Keeney is a first-time selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team .
The Warriors finished 7-7-5 in 2025 under second-year coach John Schwein, including a five-match unbeaten streak that propelled Lycoming into the Landmark Conference Championship semifinals for the second time in three years.
